With shocking pink hair emblematic of the ‘80s-inspired sci-fi genre, Dreamkid delivers his nostalgic synth-driven productions in a format well suited to the current video-focus social media space, sharing short clips of him performing the tracks on a 24-key midi controller.
His short video clips bubble to the top of the news feed, with their creative, highly-specific situational titles like “It’s 1983, you’re a retired hero wanting the quiet life but your city needs you again, so it’s time for one last final job.” I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them goes hyper viral sooner or later. After all, Dreamkid is in the middle of enacting a not-so-hostile but ever-playful Synthwave takeover.
