Now it’s no secret that we’ve got a soft spot for Saint Mars and the epic producers who remix their sound. We first encountered the band when their hit single, ‘Ocean Blues’ was remixed by the legendary producer Droid Bishop, followed by another remix from the enigmatic Juche. While Saint Mars’ latest single, ‘The Last Dream Ever Made’ isn’t a sound we’d normally feature on our site (think a little closer to indie rock), we were ecstatic to hear about another remix in the works, this time by the renowed French producer The Toxic Avenger.

The song inspired the producer enough to create a double remix, with an extended “Tripple Meter” remix to sweeten the deal. The two remixes have been released as a mini-album called The Toxic Avenger Remixes today via Grá Mór Phonic Records. The creation calls to mind the likes of other well-known producers such as Waveshaper, Kavinsky and The Midnight while the ever-present anti-bullying message in Saint Mars’ work remains untouched.
Speaking of the remixes, The Toxic Avenger shares: “I don’t often do a double remix so I guess ‘The last dream ever made’ was really inspiring. I worked on the 2 remixes as if it was a two-part song, almost a mini odyssey. I always love doing remixes of pop songs more than strictly electronic music. They give me way more room to shape my own sound with the big help of the original song!”
