Synthwave musician Das Mörtal has released his new beautifully haunting dance single titled ‘The Void’. It was released on the 31st of January via Lisbon Lux Records in celebration of the Pagan festival ‘Imbolc’.

He draws influence from German techno, horror and sci-fi movie soundtracks. Das Mörtal has also dabbled in producing film scores for films titled ‘Naissance d’un Zombie’ as well as ‘Deadcon’. He has been measured against artists such as Gesaffelstein, Perturbator, and Waveshaper.

‘The Void’ creates nostalgia for 90’s video gameplay just for the music, not the graphics. Music styles in the past are recycled in modern music today however, visual media has evolved in look and quality. The song instantly transports your mind to the video game realm whilst listening.

Das Mörtal adds, ” The Void’ is a call back to 90’s techno, taking inspiration from goth culture and the cosmic horror of H.P. Lovecraft.”
