Cheeky and yet captivating, meet 33, a four-piece ‘Feel-Good-Sound’ band, and their modern take on rocking synthpop. Their debut album, eponymously titled ‘33’ was unveiled on 27 October 2023. These talented musicians from Bern – Levin Zahnd, Silas Boonstoppel, Roman Mischler, and Janis Zahnd – blend easy-going college rock with warm and pleasant synths. Whether heard on disk, radio or live on stage, 33 impresses on every level. With their unmistakably authentic sound, the childhood friends turned hitmakers earned themselves a spot at the Gurtenfestival in 2019, creating a fast buzz on outlets like TeleBärn, nau.ch, and musikch.com.

With a compelling blend of raw instrumentation and slick electronic production, ‘33’ excites the senses as the band explores the themes of self-discovery, disappointment, and joy within romantic entanglements. With lyrics as endearing as their melodies, the opening track ‘Hurry’ fiercely instills a relatable edge that persists after each listen. Since forming back in October 2016, and releasing multiple EPs, 33 have embarked on a remarkable synthpop journey. Culminating in their first full-length offering; resplendent with broadly smiling pads and catchy acoustic hooks. Book-ended by the languid closing track ‘Slowly’, this upbeat album sounds like the jangle-pop of indie tastemakers Parcels meets the effervescent pop stylings of Daði Freyr.

Each of the twelve songs on this album tells a unique story and invites you to delve into the world of the band. From passionate relationships to inner conflicts and the desire for change, the lyrics are as authentic as the music itself.” said the four of their self-titled album, out now.
