NICOLAAS has released a funky new remix of ‘Real Escape’ courtesy of Disco Despair on June 21 via Haven Sounds. The remix, premiered by discobelle on June 19th, follows the release of his debut single ‘No Stranger Thing’, which featured remixes by Louis La Roche and Pages (the latter being released via French music and fashion label Kitsuné on March 18th).
The original version of ‘Real Escape’ is a laid-back dance track, brimming with groove and attitude, featuring seductive vocals that situate the listener in a party above the clouds. The Disco Despair remix, in turn, takes the listener even further and, while drawing from 80s funk, treats us to an intergalactic disco experience.
The Finnish producer and DJ, Disco Despair, had the following to share about his take on ‘Real Escape’:
“I felt the remix needed a different approach, while still keeping the energy of the original intact. The topline has a great vibe to it, and it allowed for a little musical exploration. I wanted to bring in a little more harmonic movement and some French touch glazed with an 80’s vibe.”
