Jolly Damper is the alter ego of Catalan pianist and producer Joan Solana. The band, thought as a collaborative ecosystem, have launched the video for Once upon a crime, one of the tunes included in its first EP Stallion (self-released, 2020). The electro-visual-pop group celebrates its second anniversary announcing two new songs that will be publish in Autumn.

Lay down arrives on September 17th and When you evoke on November 4th. Two singles where Jolly Damper recuperate Nick Grimes’ Londoner voice and, if everything goes right, will perform live on October 9 in Vilafranca. Chance to listen to the confined Life on Mars with Paula Valls, the blue hour of Dawn with Carla Serrat, and the sad darkness of Jellyfish rebirth (feat. Paula Valls).

Joan Solana’s most dared and personal project is a combination of trip hop, downtempo, dance, dream pop and ambiental experimentation with an audio reactive installation. In Jolly Damper’s collaborations we can find Nick Grimes (London), Carla Serrat (Vic), Paula Valls (Manlleu), Júlia Colom (Majorca) and Víctor Solana (Newcastle). This innovate project premiered in May 2019 between Vilafranca del Penedes and Barcelona.
