MIN-t (the project of Polish artist Martyna Kubicz) launched her latest single ‘Hope’ this past weekend, the opening chapter of her new album Before The After, arriving May 8. Since relocating to Berlin in 2015, the multi-hyphenate has shared bills with HVOB, Angel Haze, Jess Glynne and Vitalic. She has built a live following with over 300 performances at festivals such as Reeperbahn Festival, Off Festival, Orange Warsaw Festival, Open’er Festival and Y Not Festival. Last November, she completed a European tour alongside Saya Noé and OIEE across Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Warsaw, Wrocław and Bochum.

Kubicz began classical piano lessons at the age of seven and spent twelve years at a music school in Wrocław, also gaining performance experience in children’s musical theatre and ballet. During her teenage years, exposure to jazz, electronic music, pop, and soul inspired her to begin songwriting at sixteen and to pursue self-taught music production with Ableton at eighteen. She received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Valencia, where she became the first Polish woman to study under Susan Rogers, the engineer renowned for her work with Prince. Leo Abrahams, known for collaborations with Adele, Jon Hopkins, Brian Eno, and Regina Spektor, co-produced her 2021 album Shot To Pieces.

‘Hope’ is already getting attention as a self-produced and mixed track by MIN-t, with mastering by Conor Dalton and lyrics co-written by her sister Patrycja Kubicz. The song features a strong breakbeat that keeps the energy high. Glitchy synths add texture and depth, creating a sense of freedom and scale. A powerful bassline grounds the track in all of its high-energy production. MIN-t’s vocals move smoothly between melodic lines and sharp, expressive rap verses, highlighting the song’s theme of resilience during tough times. The mix of bold rhythms, electronic sounds, and her versatile voice makes the track both impressive and full of feeling.

MIN-t shared: “The song ‘Hope’ is not a simple story about believing that everything will be okay. In these difficult times, trust in the world cannot be rebuilt with empty slogans. Superficial empathy only camouflages inaction. True hope is an effort. It grows out of experiences of loss or failure. It awakens anger – and that anger drives us to act.
