International electronic collective under:tones return with their second single of 2025 ‘Crossroads’, which landed on September 26th via Through The Void Records. The release follows ‘Dreaming (Wide Awake)’, marking the official launch of Through The Void, with the two singles offering a taste of what lies in store for their forthcoming Encounters album, their second studio album following their self-titled 2021 debut LP.
under:tones is the meeting point of worlds, written and produced across Los Angeles, Florence, and London. Formed by Alex Neri (Planet Funk) and Matteo Zarcone, the project has already drawn attention for its expansive vision. Their sound draws on the psychedelic sweep of Tame Impala, the widescreen shimmer of Empire of the Sun, and the textured grooves of Mura Masa, while carving out something distinctly their own. With years of experience behind them, Neri and Zarcone bring both veteran craft and fresh exploration, aiming to create music that bridges underground intimacy with festival-sized emotion.
‘Crossroads’ distills that ethos into an instrumental anthem. Shimmering pads and tight rhythms unfold into soaring melodic arcs, spotlighting a synth line that dances over the fray with a precision that balances tension and release. The track evokes the euphoria of sunrise sets and the collective energy of open-air crowds, yet retains an intimacy that speaks even through solitary headphone listens. Both expansive and personal, it feels like a celebration of connection, where light and sound converge.
“With ‘Crossroads’ we wanted to capture that exact moment when anticipation and release meet on the dancefloor,” under:tones explain. “It is about energy, light, and the feeling of being connected to something bigger than yourself, whether at sunrise, in front of a massive crowd, or lost in your own headphones.”
The release also propels the vision of Through The Void, founded by Lawrence Fancelli and managed by Alessandra Pellegrineschi, which positions itself as a boutique label dedicated to treating music as art. “Through The Void was born from a simple belief: music needs vision, care, and the courage to go beyond trends,” says Fancelli. “My dream has always been to create a bridge between Italy and the U.S., a place where artists can grow globally without losing their identity.
