Los Angeles-based alt-pop artist Nastiya Kai released her new single, ‘I’d Do Anything’, along with a video on 2 August via her own label, Nastiya Kai Music. This follows her debut album, Demon Era, released on 31 May. Her recent singles have gained support from NOTION, CLASH, Wonderland, Numéro, Metal Mag, and Earmilk. Emerging in 2023, the self-taught artist started playing piano and writing songs at ten. Her sound, compared to Caroline Polachek and Sub Urban, is inspired by David Bowie, Daughter, and others. Fans of Billie Eilish, Grimes, and VÉRITÉ will love her music.
‘I’d Do Anything’ showcases Nastiya’s vivid imagination as she dreams of reaching the top. Her heartfelt storytelling is highlighted by her crisp vocals, which glide over soft synths and a soothing beat. The video features Nastiya exploring an extravagant pink mansion, subtly interacting with its contents. It offers a confessional look at her fantasy life, revealing the imperfections hidden beneath the opulence.
Nastiya shared: “I’d Do Anything” is a fantasy. This is me thinking about what it would be like when you make it to the top. Would it make one happier? Does your life actually change or does it become emptier the higher you climb? I wanted it to sound quite soft and gentle so it feels like the narrator is walking on eggshells and unsure whether they belong or whether they’re doing anything right at all.”
