Morgan Visconti returns to solo work with Twilight City, a 19-track album set for release on February 28, 2025. Originally composed in 1991 and rediscovered decades later, the album captures the raw creativity of a young artist finding his voice in a New York City apartment. Known for his work in electronic pop and ambient music, Visconti blends past and present in this deeply personal project.

Recorded on a four-track cassette with an analog sequencer and borrowed gear, Twilight City is a time capsule of tape loops, pulsing rhythms, and atmospheric textures. The lead single, ‘Twilight City,’ blends industrial drum sounds with live synth overdubs, creating a hypnotic, cinematic feel. “I was skint at the time,” Visconti recalls. “I borrowed an Akai drum machine, loaded it with industrial sounds I made by banging on metal, and tried to emulate the big kick drums from Prince’s records.”

Though written decades ago, Twilight City feels strikingly relevant today. With influences from Kraftwerk, Vangelis, and William Orbit, the album’s analog warmth and cinematic depth fit seamlessly into modern soundscapes. As Visconti revisits his early work, he bridges past and present, offering a nostalgic yet fresh listening experience.
