After garnering considerable attention through his release of ‘On & On,’ John J Hannibal, better known as HVNNIBVL, has released his Remixes EP, featuring Needs No Sleep, Vanillaz, Evix and Gummyb3ars.
The Buffalo NY resident has always shied away from citing influences in terms of genre. “I’m influenced by anybody that does what they love to do, and shows passion with every ounce of doing it.” he says. And this is certainly true in his chosen remix artists. “This song, though more classified as Pop, stems as does most pop music right now, from EDM” says HVNNIBVL “We chose a few incredibly talented producers that span across the various sub genres in Dance music to do this round of official remixes.”
First to step up to the remixing duties for the EP is house producer Vanillaz. Having gained support from major artists such as Fedde Le Grand, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Vinai as well as playing big festivals and venues across the world including Ultra Europe, WMC Miami and Pow Wow Festival, his rendition of the track ups the tempo with the addition of a pacey new rhythm. Vanillaz version of “On & On” leads the track into a new light on the dancefloor, whilst still staying true to the overall sound.
Needs No Sleep is the new project from house producer Mitch Thomas who has developed and honed his skills over the years both in the studio and on the decks, receiving support from the likes of Pete Tong, Martin Garrix and Afrojack.
Talented upcoming EDM producer and DJ Evix has already played the Main Stage at Spring Awakening Music Festival this year. Krewella also used his track “Whatcha Think” on SiriusXM Radio.
Gummyb3ars’ inspired take on the track, though still centered on the dancefloor, resonates his own idiosyncratic sound still while accentuating HVNNIBVL’s vocal declarations.
