Oneohtrix Point Never has recently remixed Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto’s ‘Anadata.’
Sakamoto is an esteemed producer, pianist, activist, writer, actor and dancer. His work, which spans across a few decades, and has roots in electronic pop, classical, experimental and world ambient.
Daniel Lopatin, or Oneohtrix Point Never probably needs no introduction. The artist is currently signed to Warp records and his discography includes Betrayed in the Octagon (2007); Zones Without People (2009); Russian Mind (2009); Returnal (2010) Replica (2011); R Plus Seven (2013); Garden of Delete (2015) as well as scoring the soundtrack for the 2015 motion picture Good Time.
Surprisingly, the remix is quieter than the original. Midway through the track, however, we see some characteristic Oneohtrix Point Never “noise,” which slowly dissipates back to soft keys and harps.
