Asif Kapadia’s tragic documentary on the life and death of Amy Winehouse has beaten out competitors including ‘What Happened, Miss Simone?’ and ‘Heart of a Dog’ to win this year’s Oscar for Best Documentary.
Some controversy has occurred post win with Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse, tweeting ‘Always proud of my baby. Amy will not get the Oscar though. Just Asif Kapadia. This is what this is all about… Asif. He’s fooled everybody.’
