German electronic artist and music journalist Clystre unveils music video ’15 Inches of Snow’, as a tease for his newest album Arpichelago, dropping on 14 February via the Berlin-based label Moniker Eggplant.
A devoted synthesizer enthusiast, Clystre crafted this album with influences from early synth-pop, psychedelia, various strands of electronica, and Krautrock. Spanning ten evocative tracks, Arpichelago releasing Feb 14th showcases his remarkable ability to create expansive, richly textured soundscapes through masterful use of synths, rhythm, and sonic depth. Renowned for his live performances, Clystre has taken the stage at Berlin’s Superbooth synth fair. His music prioritizes intricate textures and harmonic motifs over tempo shifts, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the subtle nuances of his groundbreaking sonic world.
Alongside the album, Clystre released a striking music video for 15 Inches of Snow on YouTube. Directed by Heath Metzger—best known for his work with indie rock band Mock Orange—the video is a dynamic visual experience. It blends drone footage with iPhone and digitized VHS clips from Metzger’s personal archive, perfectly mirroring the track’s emotive and high-energy essence
